On July 9th, 2015 an event was co-organized with the Greek University Association for European Studies, the Municipality of Mytilene and the North Aegean Region, as part of the Summer School “European Governance and State” of the Aegean University. The event was organized as part of the Action “Reconnecting Europe to Greece / reconnecting Europe with Greece” (http://www.re-conn.eu), which is funded by the Program Erasmus + ( “Jean Monnet Support to Institutions and Associations “) and had the theme” Prospects and challenges of European completion; European studies and the common European future ”
The aim of the conference was to provide an opportunity for discussion between experts from different European countries on European governance and representatives of local and regional administration on key issues concerning European integration and in connection with the Europeanisation of public political awareness about the prospects and challenges of European Integration in a state of financial crisis. The discussion did focus on the importance of European Studies in the debate about the future of European integration.
The conference had a roundtable form and was TV- aired from the local channel of Mytilene (TV Mytilini).

The event, except officers of Local Authorities and regional administration, was attended by representatives of the local Chamber of Commerce, the Bar Association, development agencies, local social civil as well as young people aged 18-30.
