Την Τρίτη 15 και την Τετάρτη 16 Μαρτίου, το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο και η Εθνοσυνέλευση και η Γερουσία του Γαλλικού Κοινοβουλίου διοργανώνουν την Ευρωπαϊκή Κοινοβουλευτική Εβδομάδα 2022, η οποία θα επικεντρωθεί στον αντίκτυπο της κρίσης COVID-19 στις Ευρωπαϊκές οικονομίες και την ανάκαμψη στην ΕΕ.

Στη φετινή έκδοση της Ευρωπαϊκής Κοινοβουλευτικής Εβδομάδας (ΕΚΕ) μεταξύ των κεντρικών ομιλητών (με φυσική παρουσία είτε εξ’ αποστάσεως) είναι η πρόεδρος του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου Roberta Metsola, ο πρωθυπουργός της Πορτογαλίας Antonio Costa, ο πρωθυπουργός της Ελλάδας Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης (προς επιβεβαίωση), η πρόεδρος της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής Ursula von der Leyen και η ομοσπονδιακή υπουργός Ευρωπαϊκών Υποθέσεων και Συντάγματος της Αυστρίας Karoline Edtstadler, καθώς και ευρωβουλευτές και μέλη των εθνικών Κοινοβουλίων.

European Parliamentary Week: Economic Governance and Recovery

This week, the European and French Parliaments hold the 2022 European Parliamentary Week, which will focus on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on EU economies and EU recovery.
The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, the Prime Minister of Portugal Antonio Costa, the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and other Members of the European Commission, the Federal Minister for European Affairs and Constitution of Austria Karoline Edtstadler, MEPs and Members of national Parliaments will take part in this year’s edition of the European Parliamentary Week (EPW), organised jointly by the European and French Parliaments.

The EPW is held remotely via videoconference from the European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday and Wednesday 15-16 March 2022. It comprises an Inter-parliamentary Conference on Stability, Economic Coordination and Governance in the European Union (Tuesday) and a High-Level Conference on the Recovery and Resilience Facility (Wednesday).

Two plenary sessions on Tuesday will focus on the Reform of the Stability and Growth Pact and the EU’s own resources. On Wednesday, parliamentarians will debate on the implementation of the national recovery and resilience plans.

An online press webinar on the Recovery and Resilience Facility focussing on lessons learnt so far takes place on Wednesday 16 March from 14:30-15:30 with the EP Rapporteurs on the Recovery and Resilience Facility Siegfried Mureşan (EPP, RO), Eider Gardiazabal (S&D, ES) and Dragoş Pîslaru (Renew, RO), as well as Nils Redeker from the Jacques Delors Centre, Hertie School Berlin. Backgound

The European Parliament organises annually, together with the Parliament of the Member State holding the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union, a high-level meeting with the participation of Members of the European Parliament and of all EU national Parliaments. Such meetings address topical themes concerning the economic, budgetary and social policies of the Union. It is the largest annual meeting organised by the European Parliament with national Parliaments.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) is the biggest building block of the biggest EU economic recovery and support package – “NextGenerationEU” – ever adopted. Parliament is due to adopt a first implementation report on the Recovery and Resilience Facility in June 2022.
