EU Digital COVID Certificate
In a debate starting at 9.00, MEPs will discuss with Commissioner Reynders and the Portuguese Presidency the practical rollout of the new EU Digital COVID Certificate. The purpose of the certificate is to facilitate intra-EU travels and contribute to the post-pandemic economic recovery. Once formally adopted by the Parliament and the Council it will apply in all EU member states from 1 July. Plenary will vote on the provisional agreement during Tuesday’s second voting session. Results will be announced Wednesday at 9.00. Rapporteur Juan Fernando López Aguilar (S&D, ES) will host a press conference after the plenary debate, at 13.15.
