Έναρξη συνόδου ολομέλειας Μαΐου, Δευτέρα 17 Μαΐου

Ο πρόεδρος Sassoli σημαίνει την έναρξη της ολομέλειας της συνόδου του Μαΐου

ΣΥΝΟΔΟΣ ΟΛΟΜΕΛΕΙΑΣ

Σήμερα γιορτάζουμε τη διαφορετικότητα, αγωνιζόμαστε κατά των διακρίσεων και προωθούμε τα δικαιώματα των ΛΟΑΤΙ, δήλωσε ο πρόεδρος Sassoli κατά την έναρξη της συνόδου της ολομέλειας, τη Δευτέρα 17 Μαΐου.

Με αφορμή την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα κατά της ομοφοβίας, της τρανσφοβίας και της αμφιφοβίας, ο πρόεδρος Sassoli τόνισε ότι ενώ θα έπρεπε να είναι αυτονόητο και εύκολο να αγαπάμε όποιον θέλουμε, τα ΛΟΑΤΙ άτομα ακόμα έρχονται αντιμέτωπα με πολλά εμπόδια και βία.

Ο πρόεδρος κάλεσε τους πάντες να στηρίξουν από κοινού της αξίες της ΕΕ, να παλέψουν κατά των διακρίσεων και να προωθήσουν τα δικαιώματα των ΛΟΑΤΙ καθώς τα δικαιώματα δεν εξαρτώνται από την ταυτότητα φύλου ή τον σεξουαλικό προσανατολισμό.

Changes to the agenda – Session extended until Friday

Tuesday

The debate on the Council and Commission statements on Recent deaths in the Mediterranean and search and rescue at sea is swapped with the debate on the Commission statement on Revised Industrial Strategy for Europe, and will thus be taken as last point on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday afternoon, the debate on the report on Human rights protection and the EU external migration policy is swapped with the debate on the report on 2019-2020 Reports on Turkey, and it will thus be taken as first point on Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday

The votes on The right of information of the Parliament regarding the ongoing assessment of the national recovery and resilience plans are postponed from Wednesday to Thursday. The vote on the amendments will therefore be held in the first voting session of Thursday and the final vote in the second voting session of Thursday.

Friday

Due to the number of amendments as well as requests for split and separate votes received, there will be an additional voting session on Friday from 09.45 until 11.00. The announcement of results will take place at 13.00. As a consequence, the May part-session is extended until Friday 21 May 2021.

In addition, with regard to the recommendation for second reading by Ms Daly on the Exchange, assistance and training programme for the protection of the euro against counterfeiting for the period 2021-2027 (Pericles IV programme) no proposal to reject the Council position and no amendments have been tabled under Rules 67 and 68. The Council position is therefore deemed approved and consequently the proposed act is deemed to have been adopted.
