Support to regions in the transition to a green economy
MEPs will debate the Just Transition Fund, a key tool to support EU regions in the transition to a climate-neutral economy by 2050. The Fund will finance job-seeking assistance, learning additional skills and retraining, and will help micro-enterprises and research institutions, as well as investments in new energy technologies, energy efficiency and sustainable local mobility. The vote will take place on Tuesday.

Climate change/Renewable energy
Parliament will debate measures to decarbonise Europe’s energy system, industry and transport. In a draft report, MEPs call for the EU’s energy systems to be integrated in order to boost efficiency and reduce costs. A second draft text stresses the key contribution that renewable hydrogen can make to achieving climate neutrality in the long term. The reports will be put to the vote on Wednesday.

Illegal online streaming of sporting events
MEPs want illegal transmission of sports events stopped to ensure organisers’ intellectual property rights are protected. In a report to be put to the vote on Tuesday (result Wednesday), they are set to state that current legislation needs to be updated to allow for illegal live sport broadcasts to be taken down in real time.

Intra-EU labour mobility. MEPs will present proposals to ensure protection of labour rights and freedom of movement within the EU. In a draft report to be put to the vote on Wednesday (result Thursday), they request that workers in strategic supply chains be considered essential and call for a protocol to guarantee freedom of movement during health crises.
EU Solidarity Fund. To respond better to climate change and more frequent natural disasters in the EU, and focus on regions at risk, the EU Solidarity Fund should be adapted, MEPs are expected to say in a debate in the evening. The vote will take place on Tuesday.
People displaced by climate crisis. Parliament will debate the impact of climate change on people in developing countries, demanding the EU puts words into action. A resolution will be put to the vote on Tuesday (result Wednesday).
